About the Photographers

Darla Aaron and Melissa Peterson first met when their kids, now teenagers, were toddlers in a "playgroup" together. Often carrying their cameras, intent on capturing the priceless moments of childhood, the two continued to cross paths. With so much in common, from using the same Canon cameras to both holding degrees in Communications, it was no surprise that Darla and Melissa became close friends.

In 2003, Darla suggested they combine their passion and personal experience in photography with her background in sales and Melissa's background in public relations. To make it official, they took photography classes at the local college and Classic Photography was born.

Initially, the two found a niche with sepia images that captured the innocence of youth. Little League players photographed with old-fashioned bats and gloves, and children hugging fluffy sheep at Connolly Ranch became two of Classic's favorite looks. Today, while their business has grown to encompass weddings, families, and business photography, they continue to support these two local organizations with donations and sponsorships.

Loyal clientele commend Darla and Melissa's relaxed, approachable style, which results in beautiful portraiture.
